Nokia 6 (2018) vs Redmi Note 5 Pro vs Honor 7X: Which one to buy " ? "

NEW DELHI: HMD Global, the company that holds the license to manufacture Nokia branded smartphones, launched its latest series of smartphones in India. The company has launched its flagship smartphone Nokia 8 Sirocco, its mid-segment handset Nokia 7 Plus and the budget smartphone Nokia 6 (2018) in the country. All the three smartphone launched come under the Android One program of Google and will receive timely updates and security patches. We compared the cheapest of all the three -- Nokia 6 (2018) to the other smartphone available in the price range to see where it stands in terms of specifications.

Display
The Nokia 6 (2018) comes with a 5.5-inch full HD display with 1080x1920 pixel resolution, while the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro sports a bezel-less 5.99-inch full HD+ display with 1080x2160 pixel resolution. The Honor 7X, on the other hand, also features a full screen display of 5.93-inch and 1080x2160 pixel resolution. So, in this department the Nokia 6 (2018) lags behind its competition as it offers a display of 16:9 aspect ratio while the others come with 18:9 aspect ratio.

Processor
The Nokia 6 (2018) is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor, which is a decent processor for budget segment smartphone. However, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor and the Honor 7X comes with the company’s own Kirin 659 processor. In this segment also the Nokia 6 (2018) will face tough competition from the Redmi Note 5 Pro and the Honor 7X as they both come with better processors.





Operating system
The Nokia 6 (2018) is an Android One smartphone and it comes with Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out-of-the-box. The smartphone will receive all the timely updates and security patches. Along with this, it is also expected that it can receive Android P update as well. While the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and the Honor 7X run Android 7.0 Nougat operating system which is an old version of the OS. So, Nokia 6 (2018) has an edge above the other two smartphones in terms of the operating system.

RAM and storage
The Nokia 6 (2018) comes with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage. On the other hand, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage and 6GB RAM and 64GB storage, while the Honor 7X offers 4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB storage. All the three smartphones come with expandable storage option. However, Xiaomi is ahead of the other two as it offers better RAM in the same price.


Camera
Nokia 6 (2018) boasts of a 16MP rear camera powered by ZEISS options and dual tone LED flash. Along with this, the smartphone offers an 8MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with a dual rear camera setup. The smartphone sports 12MP and 5MP sensors at the rear end with LED flash. The 12MP primary camera has aperture f/2.2 and the secondary 5MP shooter has aperture f/2.0. The front of the device houses a 20MP selfie camera with LED flash. On the other hand, the Honor 7X also has a dual rear camera with 16MP and 2MP sensors and an 8MP snapper for selfies. Here also the Nokia 6 (2018) is behind its competition.

Battery

Nokia 6 (2018) is backed by a 3000mAh battery, while the Redmi Note 5 Pro and the Honor 7X house a 4000mAh and 3340mAh battery respectively. So, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro excels than the other two devices.

Price
The Nokia 6 (2018) is priced at Rs 16,999, while the Redmi Note 5 Pro and Honor 7X comes with a starting price tag of Rs 13,999 and 12,999 respectively.
