Twitter goes down in many parts of the world

NEW DELHI: One of the biggest social networking websites of the world, Twitter is facing an outage across the globe. The outage is being reported by users from several countries on the down detector website. According to the website, which tracks internet outages, service disruption is not letting users tweet or in some cases, log in to their Twitter accounts.

Many Twitter users from the US, UK, Europe and India started tweeting about the outage when the website was down briefly up after the outage. The Twitter app also seems to be affected by the outage as users are not able to tweet and refresh the news feed. The error page on the desktop shows the text 'Something is technically wrong.' followed by 'Thanks for noticing - we're going to fix it up and have things back to normal soon.'

So far, there's no official statement on Twitter's blog or any of its social media account pages.

This is the fifth time in April that Twitter is facing an outage. The microblogging website went down on April 12th, 9th, 6th, 3rd and 2nd as well according to the Downdetector website.

Taking advantage of the situation, some users even took jibes at the microblogging website by commenting, "its back up....damn i was hoping twitter would finally die" on the internet outage tracking website. A user on Twitter posted:
